Kate Schapira will read from her book of poems, How We Saved the City, which asks: Who decides what a city and its people need? Who creates its history, and how?
Come learn more about gentrification, ghosts, and concurrent and successive cities in Schapira's chosen home of Providence.
Kate Schapira is the author of three full-length books and six chapbooks of poetry. She co-organizes the Publicly Complex Reading Series at Ada Books and teaches writing at Brown University.
